Do you see the above picture? Do see how busy they each are; meetings, tonnes of files to go through, Mr. Not Enough Hands and Sir Time Strapped. We all have been there at some point, where there is just not enough hours in the in the day or in the week. But I promise you, if you decide to go on this little experiment with me this month, we can all breath a little easier.
So this week we focus on laying the ground work, preparing for how productive we are going to be.
Doing your most challenging task(s) first. Now sometimes this is easier said than done, but if you can, by all means eat the frog. I too, get bogged down with myriads of To Dos, but I am a mutli-tasker, so that works out for me. If you can’t efficiently multi-task, leave it alone. Just focus on the most important task first and then work you way down the list. I like to put my day’s list in numerical order. 1-10 depending on how busy my list is; that way I know what is next on my list.
It’s most definitely important to at least try to take a break from the hustling 2 or even 3 times a day for 10 minutes. This helps to re-centre and reenergize you. If you are glued to your seat, your phone, your computer, you run the risk of just loosing complete concentration and thereby not performing optimally.
Holding yourself accountable. BRUHHHH!!! This is a hard nut to crack especially if you running your own business and have no one to answer to. Well, NEWS FLASH!!! Your future self will thank you for it, hold yourself accountable. Revisit the idea of why you started your business in the first place. Then you get yourself a reliable and purpose driven mentor/coach or an accountability partner, someone who will not cut you any slack, just because. In order to GROW, we must GO! Go get it and we just have to do it. If you don’t push, how will you expand and then teach your employees what is required?? Great leaders are made, not born.
Yup….To maximize our time in 2019 with so so many distractions we need to employ a number of tools to get our tasks done. For me I lovvvve using Trello. It’s my go to app for planning and writing down work related to dos. It gives me a checklist option which I appreciate, I love ticking off items on my daily list, as it makes me feel accomplished. This lets me know I am not busy doing nothing. What tools are available to help you in your trade?? Do some research to see what is out there. I try to find the most time and cost efficient way to get my tasks done, not only for myself, but also for my clients. I recently got let into this exotic club for invoicing. Its almost like a free quickbooks!! eeeekkkkkk!!! You read that correctly. FREE!!!! It makes tracking your invoices much easier too and it prompts you if you have outstanding payments!!! So if you want to get in on this juiciness, send me an email and I will get the details to you.
That’s it for this week Taklrs!! Hope you are ready to lay the ground work, because coming up next week we start the work!!!
