First things first momma bear….STOP!!!! Ain’t nothing working in this chaos…we have established that. Take a breather and write down all the things you do on a daily basis. We are gonna plan your day.
Now that we have our list….we are gonna be strategic about our day. As a mom of a 2 year old and a 1 year old, running my business and managing our optical stores, I had to learn to manage my time efficiently. It’s not easy everyday, but I plan. Everything for me is strategic, through time blocking. It’s become like a second nature to me. It helps me to feel less anxious because I know what to expect. The moment several unknowns are thrown at me, my day is off and I get antsy.
Look at your list and prioritize….what needs to be done and think about the actual time that it would take to accomplish each task. So if its takes 30 minutes to prepare lunch for the kids, put it down. ensure you take into account all the details. Laundry takes 2 hours.. pencil that in, from start to finish. Dropping the kids to school, 25 minutes. Putting them down to nap, 20 minutes-it takes 20 minutes for them to fall asleep. Note every detail.
Second thing….Segment your day. Break it up into several parts. Early morning-school run and then breakfast, tidy the bedrooms. Afternoon-office work/business and finally, Evening- pick up the kids from school/soccer practice and make dinner, put them to bed. Now once you know your day. It begins to get easier.
This initially takes time to set up and get into the groove, but once you do, you find it becomes easier, because everything seems to be on auto-pilot. Don’t get overwhelmed thinking about it all. If you are struggling, I can help with chartering your day. I love to helping a fellow moms to get their brain decluttered and back being organized.
