We all know that we live in the age of “Rush Hour”. Everything seems like we are always on the go, always trying to get somewhere, meeting someone or a client, even friends. Handling a myriad of tasks ALL the time, we never seem to have the time to just stop and plan, stop and think, stop and have a moment, just for us, just for you. Why is that? Why do we always seem so confused when we are rushing. Well, let’s just be honest, its because we are not organized, we are not planning, we jus a duh tings so, with no real action or end in mind, other than, this need fi do. So that puts us in a frenzy and we run around like little lab rats pumped up on adrenaline. I know for me personally, if I don’t plan my day or my week, I get so bogged down with OMG I forgot to do this, or this needs to be done now, and I just start snapping and getting miserable because I am OVERWHELMED and that is the truth.
So the first step in organizing your business is to define your business goals and the plans that you have. Once you have this down on paper(cuz we old fashioned over here), you are more likely to work towards achieving this plan. Make sure that your business plan is SMART-Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time Bound.
The second step is to keep yourself motivated. More so, if you have employees, you have additional people depending on you to make this business a success. Happy employee, means a happy business, which equals happy customers. Find out what keeps them motivated and keep them engaged.
Thirdly, keep your space organized. Even its just a small desk and chair. If your space is cluttered and chaotic, your mental space will be the same. So try to keep a organized area. Throw out items you are no longer in need of, this frees up your space to welcome other items that are more meaningful.
Keeping in touch with your clients and prospects, via email or phone. This allows them to keep you at the forefront their mind. Albeit, birthday greeting cards, company updates or specials. Never forget about your customer, they are the reason you are in business.
